Narrative Practices for Practitioners
Storytelling is at the heart of our client work. Humans are story-driven and meaning-making and the words we use shape our narrative - clients, as well as our own. In this one-of-a-kind training courses, we'll dig deep into the roots of stories, into how evolutionary psychology and neuroscience impact narratives, the role of socially constructed realities on our stories, the power of external and internal narratives, as well as learn some practical tools to apply in session, taken from the disciplines narrative therapy and narrative coaching, and last but not least, we'll look at how your story, as the practitioner, can impact how you're showing up for your client.
This is a 3-day CPD, stretched over 3 weeks. 10am - 4:30pm BST Next cohort autumn 2023
The Art of the Insightful Question(TM)
How can we get to the core of our client's problem and how can we help them get razor-sharp about their solutions? How can we learn to ask better questions to remove distracting thoughts and get to the root of the issue? Nancy Kline believes it's about creating a powerful Thinking Environment(TM), Katie Byron believes we can strip everything else away by focusing on four key questions in her framework The Work(TM) and Michael Bungay Stanier has created a 7 questions framework to help practitioners as well as clients get to the heart of the matter.
At The Training ComPenDium, we want to honour those who've already put years of research, knowledge and expertise into creating powerful questions, while also adding our own special sauce, and to, not least, help you create your own Insightful Question(TM) framework to use in your practice.
Next cohort: Winter 2024
Curious Enquiry(TM)
Curious Enquiry(TM) (previously known as The Curious Questions Framework - CQF) is all about the power of curiosity.
Originally created to be used as a supervision method, it quickly became apparent that it could also be used as a dynamic tool for counsellors and coaches alike, whether in their 1-2-1 work or within group sessions. But, furthermore, it's an effective and eloquent method for managers to apply in a corporate setting and even applicable when doing reflective interpersonal work or as a couples or parental technique to connect deeper with others. In this powerful one-day CPD, you'll learn how to apply CI in a professional setting as well as on your own personal journey.
